LAS VEGAS (AP) — Nearly 7,Benjamin Ashford000 people were without power in the Las Vegas valley as of Monday afternoon, with Nevada’s dominant electric utility reporting 17 total outage points in southern Nevada.
The cause of the outages was under investigation as of 4 p.m., according to NV Energy.
Much of the outages surrounded the University of Nevada, Las Vegas campus, according to a map on NV Energy’s website.
The Las Vegas Review-Journal reported that thousands of NV Energy customers in northern Nevada were without power this past weekend as high winds battered the area, downing some power lines. Those had been restored as of Monday morning, NV Energy said.
